This update will summarize the team results and also share some individual recognition that emerged from the team play.

Rev 16 Grey – Patriot Division – 9th: 5 – 2
Rev 15 White – Open Division – 9th: 5 – 2

We have included some additional information about individual recognition. After the tournament, we were notified that several players earned individual honors. Celebrating these individuals is celebrating the whole club, each team, and the players themselves. We want to recognize them but emphasize that the team is the most critical part!
  • 13 Club Division Best Attacker – Carissa Treser
  • 14 Patriot Division Best Setter – Makayla Roy
  • 16 Open Division Best Setter – Abby Miller

Revolution PGH 13w participated in the Club Division and finished 6-0 (12-2) in pool play after Saturday and Sunday.  This placed the team in the Gold Division playoff bracket for Monday’s competition.  After beating Core Virginia 2-0 in the quarterfinals, the team lost a tough match 1-2 in the semifinals to NC Academy.   This  gave the girls a 3rd place finish in the tournament out of the 48 teams participating in the Club Division.  The girls all had outstanding team and  individual performances throughout the weekend and middle hitter Carissa Treser was presented with the 13 Club Best Attacker Award at the conclusion of the tournament.

It  was an amazing weekend for the 14s Pgh Revolution team at the Capitol Hill Classic.  The girls persevered through metro stations, early wake up times, late nights, easy to play teams, difficult teams, trying to find the court in the sea of hundreds, team dinners, bedazzled Volleyball Mom shirts,  and ultimately the toll that playing hard for three days can take on one’s mind, body and spirit.  The girls participated in the 14 Patriot Division and ended with a 8-2 record (16-6), earning their seat in the finals.  After a hard fought battle the girls ended up winning Second Place in the Gold Bracket.  All the girls had an outstanding weekend with Makayla Roy earning best setter award.
